Satan is currently having a field day with his false teachers spreading the ever-loved message that God is ONLY a God of love and blessings...OH so many blessings! Until your cup runneth over! Cars! Money-and lots of it (AFTER you give away ALL you currently have to said false teacher-take your pick-NO SHORTAGE!- anyway, yeah, LOTS and LOTS of STUFF and messages full of uhm.... ok, FLUFF (I AM a Christian girl now after all, at least pursuing with all humility knowing my fragility as a human-yikes!). So- Satan is on a tear across the land, many prisoners in hand, so it is REALLY IMPORTANT BELIEVERS that you and I know WHAT the Bible REALLY says, and that means...YES-HOMEWORK! But-SO WORTH IT! Never will you study something more rewarding and if YOU don't know your Bible, how will YOU know if someone pulls FALSE DOCTRINE on you? Exactly-you WON"T! Because the truth is that Jesus wants us to focus on building up treasures in Heaven, NOT so much focused on stuff here on earth, which is temporal, but focused on building our treasures in Heaven, where moth and rust cannot spoil, and where thieves cannot break in to steal. Besides, Jesus makes it WAY clear that only what we do here on earth for eternity will last when we stand at the judgment seat of Christ (2 Cor 5:10), which is ONLY for believers and is NOT a judgment for our sins (that was finished on the cross for all who believe; this judgment is for “rewards” for whatever we did on earth AFTER our conversion that was of eternal value.
If you just coasted through your life as a believer, considering “matters of faith” to be of a private nature, you have totally disobeyed Jesus who commands ALL believers to “Go and tell, making disciples of ALL nations, so SORRY, but He calls us ALL to SHARE our faith! Not to hide that light under a basket (Matt 5:16) so let your light shine!

But you know, many times after maybe months of walking faithfully with the Lord, OR after a BIG victory in your life spiritually, that’s when the sniveling “accuser of the brethren”, i.e. Satan, or more likely, one of his discepticons (Okay I stole it from the Transformers because it just so-fit), comes lurking about, feeding lies into your soul, trying to entice you back into old sin patterns, or worse, FEAR and anxiety, and then DARK DEPRESSION and soon you are questioning your ministry, your faith, your gifting, and OH YES, YOUR GOD and His trustworthiness to keep His word.

That’s EXACTLY what happened to the MOST FAMOUS Elijah in 1kings. The whole story runs from 1 Kings 18:1-19:18 and is STILL one of the FAVORITE stories that Jewish families pass on to their young; even when Christ was a babe Himself.
Elijah had just defeated ALL of wicked queen Jezebel’s prophet’s of Baal on Mt. Carmel by destroying Elijah’s thrice water-soaked altar (and I do mean soaked) see 1 Kings 18:20-40 for the whole fascinating story, one of the BEST in the Bible. Then, after holding the rain back from Israel for 3 ½ years by his word (Elijah), Elijah now informs wicked king Ahab that it will rain cats and dogs and in the power of the Holy Spirit, Elijah OUTRUNS Ahab in his CHARIOT (you know, with running horses….fast horses), and Elijah is BEATING Ahab! Got the picture in your mind? Isn’t God awesome? Oh-did I mention that Elijah had SLAUGHTERED ALL OF JEZEBEL”S 450 FALSE PROPHETS, FULFILLING OT LAW ABOUT FALSE PROPHETS?
SO- Jezebel was not pleased, to put it lightly, and put the word out that she would “do the same to Elijah” and here are the important words, vs. 19:3 Then HE (ELIJAH) WAS AFRAID. FEAR. We all know it. We’ve all felt it. We’ve all RUN from it instead of STANDING IN FAITH.  But I’m not beating Elijah up, hardly. It kind of gives us regular believers a moment of “WHEW!” when we hear that the great prophet Elijah could be brought down by fear, so like us, so good to know he was human after all isn’t it? I think that’s why the God of Grace left stories like that in the Bible, for all of us regular folks that would follow. And if all we saw of the Biblical heroes were their heroics, we would feel like such total failures in this faith thing, like, “How are WE ever going to measure up to THOSE guys and gals (yes, there were some gals.)  But that is also a big part of what proves the Bible’s authenticity, the fact that it portrays the heroes, warts, sins, failures and all, instead of wiping the record clean and presenting some sterile fabricated tale, which I’m pretty sure at least ONE group would have been prone to do, if allowed.
But not to digress, Elijah gets scared bad and takes off for yonder cave and then, he ends up in a place of retreat(running), isolation and loneliness and depression set in. Then, though Elijah THOUGHT he knew what God was doing, he really did not. And thus develops perhaps the most famous bed-time story for the Jewish people to tell their children. Because the Lord comes to Elijah in the cave and says, “What are you doing here Elijah?” and Elijah answers,” I have been very zealous for the Lord, the God of Hosts, For the people of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, thrown down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword and I, even I only am left, and they seek my life, to take it away.” 1 Kin 19:10 And God said, “Go, stand on the mount before the Lord.” (Now, THAT would make ME afraid, just saying), And behold, the Lord passed by, and a  great and strong wind tore the mountains, and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind, an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire, the sound of a low whisper (other translations; a still small voice). And when Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak (because no man can look upon God and live), and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.

And behold, there came a voice to him and said, “What are you doing here Elijah?” And for the sake of my story, and my weariness, Elijah repeats himself, pretty much verbatim to God. 1 Kings 19:14 15 And the Lord said to him, “GO, return on your way, to the wilderness of Damascus. And when you arrive, you shall anoint Hazael to be king over Syria. 16 And Jehu the son of Nimshi you shall anoint to be king over Israel and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah you shall anoint to be prophet in your place. And the one who escapes from the sword of Hazael shall Jehu put to death, and the one who escapes the sword of Jehu, shall Elisha put to death. 18 *Yet I will leave seven thousand in Israel, all the knees that have NOT bowed to BAAL, and every mouth that has NOT kissed him.”
WOW! So…lest you think God cruel and unfair here in his judgment, remember, He always gave the people plenty of time to repent BEFORE judgment as always. And Elijah isn’t being fired here, he’s worked long and hard for God, who’s shortly about to rapture (huh? Note the word, yes,) RAPTURE Elijah to Heaven alive in a chariot of fire while Elisha watches! So yes my friends, there IS a precedent set for the pre-trib rapture way back in the Old Testament, in fact Enoch in Genesis was the FIRST raptured saint: Gen 5:24 “Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.”
So MY POINT in all of this? Sometimes we want to quit and feel all alone, but REMEMBER: GOD ALWAYS HAS AND ALWAYS WILL HAVE A FAITHFUL REMNANT. PERIOD. JUST AS HE NOW HAS A FAITHFUL JEWISH REMNANT, SEE ROMANS 9-11.OH-and ALL THE OT PROPHETS!

Hard to explain to someone who has no clue. It's a daily struggle being in pain or feeling sick on the inside while you look fine on the outside. Please put this as your status for at least 1 hour if you or someone you know has an invisible illness (Crohn's, PTSD, Anxiety, Bipolar , Depression , Diabetes, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, MS, ME, Arthritis, Cancer, HEART DISEASE, EPILEPSY, Autism,M.D., Histiocytosis etc.) " Never judge what you don't understand, I know which of my friends will copy and paste.......For a dear friend....you know who you are!!!

My sister-in-law posted this. One of the things that we s but we also share the burden of the "invisible" illness of Fibrmyalgia. What are the odds right? I believe the Lord, in His sovereignty allowed both of us in the same family not only so that we would always know that we had at least ONE PERSON in the world who would understand. And I have to give absolute GREAT PRAISE to my brother Sean, because he is (from my viewpoint) an awesome caregiver for Lori, and shows, I think, a very RARE understanding of her suffering. I don't think she gets too many of those "comments" from her own caregiver that somehow suggests that we have the ability to just "fix" ourselves.It's like SERIOUSLY??? WHO would CHOOSE THIS? Have you gone MAD? Yet SO many Fibro patients (stat wise mostly women, mostly Type A personalities, so we're SMART AND GOOD LOOKING!) LOL And the Fibro seems to be "triggered" by a major trauma, either physical or emotional. I believe mine was triggered by a series of "major stress events one right after the other, but I don't remember what triggered Loris - see, AAAHH, that memory thing...GRRRR>And, not demeaning Lori's suffering one itsy, bitsy bit, but I have also had a right brain stroke, which struck my emotional/thought processes, as if I didn't have enough memory and emo challenges just from the Fibro; and trust us, they're HUGE. Fibromyalgia moves in, and with BOTH of our cases, it has been serious enough to disable us, so our previous lives moved out, and I mean TOTALLY. And for you prosperity gospel folks out there, and word faith folks, with all due respect; neither gospel is biblical, but it can be VERY HURTFUL when it comes to Christians who are suffering, which, BTY, have you actually even READ the Bible, much less STUDIED IT for any amount of time? Because the messages you all teach CAN"T BE FOUND IN THE BIBLE without taking what IS true and twisting it and manipulating it to fit YOUR DESCRIPTION, i.e. MAN"S WORD. So people like my Lori and I have to endure the "If you just had enough faith, you would be healed" or "SPEAK OUT your healing in Jesus Name and it MUST LEAVE!" Really? Do you HEAR yourself? First, try EITHER of those FALSE gospels to the Persecuted Church, people with REAL faith, they would seriously LAUGH you OUT of their churches. They GET IT that TRUE FAITH will be tested in flames and in the valley, NOT on those mountain tops that you teach we are supposed to dwell on 24/7/365. That's not to say God does not still heal OR prosper financially, but it's certainly NOT BY DEMAND and ALWAYS meant to bring HIMSELF the glory, NOT MAN! And IF He prospers with worldly wealth it's so it can be used to further the Gospel around the globe and ALL OTHER KINGDOM work, NOT so we can have big shiny cars, mansions, multiple houses, AKA EXCESS! GOD FIRST AND ALWAYS, THEN ourselves, but not for extravagance, but I digress. Sorry, part of the stroke and the Fibro, it's like mega-ADD. But after 11 + years of this, my faith IS my victory, and though I would NEVER wish this even on my WORST ENEMY, I don't think I would EVER have come to know the depth of God's word OR the depth of Jesus' love, nor understood suffering, even His in such a way had I NOT gone through this valley. And yes, I continue to pray for healing, but He is God and I'm not, so WHATEVER He allows into my life only comes with purpose. One HUGE blessing that came almost as soon as I became ill was writing poems about suffering, and how faith ties into that, and those come from God not me, because I never wrote ANYTHING before. And He turned that into a ministry to reach out to others who suffer or who have lost a loved one, or just to encourage, and that has been amazing. He is so amazing. But seriously, if you know someone who has this, NO, we are NOT better just because we look ok, or just because we are out of the house for the first time in 2 weeks. It makes getting to church a huge challenge, which I ABSOLUTELY HATE, and planning next to impossible. Our status can change minute to minute, hour to hour. Frustration is a common feeling, and guilt sneaks in regardless, even though you KNOW you did NOTHING to bring this illness on, that very thought can sometimes haunt you. We rarely if ever, get a restful sleep, our brains denying us the vital REM sleep our bodies desperately need.

I'm sharing this so you can understand me, and my life, a little better. Right now, my Fibro has actually flared and has set me back to the point that I had thought I had been set free of. Yet, as a true follower of Christ, I know that nothing can enter my life unless God allows it. And when I have done ALL that I can do, in my circumstances, I need to be still. I need to rest in God at that point that He has a purpose in all that He allows into our lives, and that it comes with great purpose, and most importantly, that His name would be glorified in my life, despite my circumstances.

As Job said, can we expect good from God, yet expect no suffering? (MY paraphrase) but you get the drift. The Christian hero, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, dared to take a stand for Christ in Hitler's Germany, when the majority of Christian's played it safe and stayed silent in the face of Hitler's slaughter of innocent Jews, and those who supported and helped the Jews. He payed for that stand with his life. It is estimated that  had the Protestant church Pastors stood firm against Hitler's evil, his agenda might have been stopped. The Catholic church is another story. It's history of placing power above people was status quo during WW11, the pope signing it's agreement contract with the devil.

Anyway, sorry for going off message, that's the problem with Fibromyalgia combined with brain damage from the stroke, it's like super ADD and I stray off message without realizing it! Ah well, such is life!

RESCUED: A SERMON BY PASTOR ERWIN LUTZER AT MOODY CHURCH IN CHICAGO

I appreciate Pastor Lutzer's rock solid biblical teaching in a time when it is downright like walking into a minefield out there in "Churchianity." You can find just about any doctrine you want to fit your pleasure, and even seasoned Bible students (that would be me) can be momentarily stupefied by fatigue and inattention to details, like are they REALLY preaching the Bible bible or a "prosperity" bible or a "word faith" bible, BOTH of which are UN BIBLICAL, TOTALLY! I told you it was confusing out there. And that's not all the trouble, but all the trouble I'll be getting myself into for today. The problem with the "prosperity" gospel is that some have gotten NOT so obvious, but If you do your homework, as you should like any good Berean (if you don't know what that is, you don't know your Bible good enough.), we should test any teaching we hear with the Scriptures (a reliable translation) to see if it lines up. In the case of the ever-popular "prosperity" gospel, which is a false gospel, they teach that God is just all about love and blessing, and plenty of of it, that He wants His children rich in the "worlds goods" and "personal wealth"; a very carnal message that appeals to people's selfish desires, and the flesh, the VERY THING Jesus teaches us to DIE TO in the TRUE Gospel narrative.
Now many of these "false prophets" will immediately jump to Abraham, David and Solomon in the Old Testament to legitimize their message, but that was before the cross, and God still blesses some of His people that way today, but if so, it's to bless others and to carry on kingdom work, and you don't hear those people, if their heart is in the right place with the Lord, preaching a "prosperity" message. Jesus clearly calls us to a life of humility, dying to our flesh and sinful nature, and being willing, indeed expecting to share in His sufferings. And again, if He does bless financially, it's so we can sow it into the kingdom work, not spend it selfishly on ourselves. And obviously He does bless many of His soldiers out their who have large, successful ministries, but if you watch, you see that they have accountability partners in place, and they are continually sowing back into the ministry as God allows and wills, NOT as THEY choose. In other words, it's about Jesus with them, NOT about themselves, and when you check someone out, there is a BIG difference.
Jesus did not, and does not teach, in any way, that our focus is to be on getting rich and on getting bigger and better cars and houses. He said we cannot love both money AND Him at the same time, which the prosperity gospel teaches. We are to store "up our riches in heaven where they will not rust or where thieves won't break in and steal." He didn't promise perfect health either. "By His stripes we are healed" is vastly over-used and wrongly so. WE are totally SPIRITUALLY healed. THAT is the promise when we are born again. But where are we EVER promised perfect health or perfect ANYTHING in THIS BROKEN WORLD? That's just it, we're not! Christians get sick just like everybody else, we don't get some special pass guys, that's the problem with BOTH the "prosperity" false gospel and the "word faith" false gospel where people have wrongly been taught that they just can name it and claim it. Ya, well let me make this REAL CLEAR, that is NOT IN THE BIBLE, ANYWHERE. You never hear or see that from Jesus or in any of the epistles. So sorry if I'm raining on someones parade or ticking someone off, I have before. I've been de-friended for holding this perfectly Biblical position. And yes, there IS power in the tongue, and in negative versus positive speaking. Yes, we should agree with God's word, but what has happened is that it is lifted out of context or it's actual meaning and we take it places it was never meant to go. Like if you study the context of the verse " By His stripes we are healed."-IS 53:5b you see that that verse is part of a whole paragraph describing how Jesus suffered in our place, and that the word "stripe" is actually a SINGULAR Hebrew noun describing that the "stripe" that caused His death has brought salvation to those for whose sins He died (see 1 Peter 2:24), so it refers to our salvation, not at all to physical healing. It's been hijacked by faith healers and twisted to mean what suits their purpose. A WHOLE lot of that going on.
Like don't even get started on the exaggeration of the little word "prosper" in the Bible which my Strongs shows as two Hebrew root words that can mean as little as "to instruct" or to break out, come mightily, cause to prosper (lit. or fig.),  the two times it's used in the New Testament, it means, to help on the road, i.e. succeed in reaching; fig. to succeed in business affairs:- (have a) prosper (-ous journey). Not exactly what we hear preached from all those "prosperity" and "word faith" pulpits is it? Do you see rich and wealthy blatantly spilling out there? Ya-Me neither. Thus the problem with false gospels. They don't preach the Gospel. They either twist or manipulate what is there for their gain, which usually involves mega-churches, mega-money, mega-books, mega-houses,anybody notice a pattern here besides me? OR they water down the truth and barely mention any real Scripture, just vague good, virtuous, "principles to live by" sermons which basically are "God loves everyone and wants to bless you no matter how you live or what you believe" sermons.
I confess that in a down moment, emotionally and physically, I actually fell for that very message from Joel Osteen and thought it legit, for a day, okay, two, until I REALLY listened to more and did my homework, and ended up where I originally was; the guy is a total 100% "Prosperity Gospel" guy. Sorry to my friends who believe otherwise. But he's on tape saying that there are "many paths to Jesus" and that unconverted people are going to Heaven, it's not his place to judge? If it's not a Pastor's place to set us right then whose is it may I ask? He DOES claim to be a CHRISTIAN Pastor, does he not? Yet he is not concerned about "people of other faiths" being in his church when he's not, I repeat, not, making it  crystal, crystal, clear HOW and THROUGH WHOM you get to heaven. And before anyone starts on  me about not "judging" someone else, that's another over-used misunderstood verse used by biblically illiterate people, sorry to offend, but it's true, we are supposed to be wise and "judge them by their fruit". Jesus called a spade a spade. So did all the prophets, and John the Baptist, and all the apostles, just to name a few. I think it's just become popular in our late PC 20th and 21st century to be cowards for Christ instead of fearlessly speaking the truth as we should and warning people away from what's false when we know it and hear it because we might lose friends.
WE need to decide if we are going to fear GOD or fear man. I'm choosing God. And everyone who's mad at me? Do your own homework. Have a listen to the "exposed" you tube on Joel and listen to his answers to questions asked in LEGIT interviews, and decide for yourself. But go back and REALLY LISTEN, do you hear pages turning and Scripture quoted? Do you hear the salvation message straight up and sin and self renounced firmly but lovingly(you CAN do both)! Do you hear every time that JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY PATH TO HEAVEN??? Do you? Cause I did not. Not any of those. Not once. So by true Gospel standards is what he feeding those people(thousands) true or false? I'd have to vote FALSE off of Jesus' words alone. And pray like hell he gets his act together for the sake of all those mislead thousands thinking they're saved on fluff. And if I'm being too tough then Jesus can tell me so, times wasting, and people are going to hell listening to all of these false teachers out there. So if WE don't get real, let me ask, who is going to? And I believe tough love is still legit.

Today's Prayer Topic is Protection Of Religious Freedom. Please pray for this topic throughout the day and keep the following prayer points in mind as you pray.

Pray a prayer of thanksgiving that we live in a country where we can openly worship and freely proclaim the Name of Jesus! Psalm 11:3

Pray that America would be faithful with all the we have been given. Pray that we would not be complacent in our faith, but instead we would be a nation of people who are desperate for God even in our abundance. Acts 4:18-20

Pray that God would not remove His Spirit from this nation because Jesus is the only thing that makes us truly free. 2 Corinthians 3:17
Lord,
We truly ask for mercy understanding that this country has placed itself in a position that deserves Your wrath, by kicking You OUT of our country, and You do not stay where You are not wanted. And our current President is doing nothing to support either You, Your people OR OUR religious freedom. So on behalf of Your faithful remnant Lord, those who WILL stand and speak, have mercy. In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

You will be blessed by Pastor David Jeremiah's sermon on the well-known parable of the "prodigal son" and the picture, clear picture, it is meant to give us of our Heavenly Father's love for His children. IF I may; does the church today FULLY grasp what it means to be a "child of God?" IN a very general sense, everyone is as we are created "in His image" but to be a true "child of God" to be included and "fully adopted" into that ETERNAL family, we must have true, saving faith in Jesus Christ. An intellectual "belief" is not saving for the Bible tells us that the demons "believe" in that sense and tremble. We must have a loving Relationship WITH Jesus Christ which means that you fully admit to being the sinner that we all are without Christ, and that you are spiritually empty (utterly poor in spirit);then we repent of our sins and the worldly lifestyle that allows many of them; repent means a turning away from and asking Jesus to forgive you of your sins, to become BOTH Lord and Savior of your life (we take ourselves off of that throne in our hearts and we put Jesus on the throne of our hearts, and ask that by His grace, you want to pursue a life on that narrow path, learning about Jesus through Bible study, prayer, being in community. No Christian is meant to be an island. Then find a solid Bible-teaching church and one that stands unapologetically behind Israel. Jesus has a million times better ANYTHING the world has to offer, and no, your life will Not be trouble free following Christ; the ways in which prophecies regarding the end times are falling into place, being a Christian is going to get bumpier, but hold to God's Word, "He who is within us is (SO MUCH) stronger than he who is in the world) and "with God, ALL THINGS are possible" So let's amp up our prayers and time just listening to the Lord, and then GO! IN THE STRENGTH OF THE ALMIGHTY GOD OF ABRAHAM, ISAAC, AND JACOB!

Some of you might ask why I share such personal poems on my blog for everyone to see. When I became ill with this chronic illness called Fibromyalgia in 2001, I had never written anything in my life. But, soon after I became ill, poems just began flowing, poems about our suffering and the intersection with our faith, and they have deepened and stretched in many ways over the years. But my point is,  they flow from the Holy Spirit within me, because in the natural, I don't have this ability. And the Lord told me to share them with other suffering people, because they would know that they are not alone in the battle, and that the Lord  always has a purpose. So that's why I share, NOT for any personal attention, I give ALL the glory to the Lord, and I thank Him for helping me get through each day with my faith not just intact, but growing.

Day 15's Prayer is focused on our Pastors and their families.
Lord, I pray that you are hearing our cries for mercy and for a mighty move of the Holy Spirit within Your church where there now exists so much  false teaching, lack of Biblical instruction, apostasy and worldliness. Lord, we pray for forgiveness for leaving our first love, YOU, ouR precious Lord and Savior, who suffered SO much so that we might be saved. Lord, we have given cause for Your name to be blasphemed among the people and Your churtch to be reviled. WE humbly ask for Your forgiveness and for a second chance to return to You, a revival to take place in the hearts and minds of those who claim Your name. Lord, in Your wrath, remember mercy. In Jesus name. Amen.

Prayer and Faith


I have frequently seen that the children of the Lord neglect prayer, especially secret prayer, altogether too much; that many do not exercise that faith which it is their privilege and duty to exercise, often waiting for that feeling which faith alone can bring. Feeling is not faith; the two are distinct. Faith is ours to exercise, but joyful feeling and the blessing are God's to give. The grace of God comes to the soul through the channel of living faith, and that faith it is in our power to exercise.

True faith lays hold of and claims the promised blessing before it is realized and felt. We must send up our petitions in faith within the second veil and let our faith take hold of the promised blessing and claim it as ours. We are then to believe that we receive the blessing, because our faith has hold of it, and according to the Word it is ours. "What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." Mark 11:24. Here is faith, naked faith, to believe that we receive the blessing, even before we realize it. When the promised blessing is realized and enjoyed, faith is swallowed up. But many suppose they have much faith when sharing largely of the Holy Spirit and that they cannot have faith unless they feel the power of the Spirit. Such confound faith with the blessing that comes through faith. The very time to exercise faith is when we feel destitute of the Spirit. When thick clouds of darkness seem to hover over the mind, then is the time to let living faith pierce the darkness and scatter the clouds. True faith rests on the promises contained in the Word of God, and those only who obey that Word can claim its glorious

promises. "If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." John 15:7. "Whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep His commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight." 1 John 3:22.

We should be much in secret prayer. Christ is the vine, ye are the branches. And if we would grow and flourish, we must continually draw sap and nourishment from the Living Vine; for separated from the Vine we have no strength.

I asked the angel why there was no more faith and power in Israel. He said, "Ye let go of the arm of the Lord too soon. Press your petitions to the throne, and hold on by strong faith. The promises are sure. Believe ye receive the things ye ask for, and ye shall have them." I was then pointed to Elijah. He was subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly. His faith endured the trial. Seven times he prayed before the Lord, and at last the cloud was seen. I saw that we had doubted the sure promises, and wounded the Saviour by our lack of faith. Said the angel, "Gird the armor about thee, and above all take the shield of faith; for that will guard the heart, the very life, from the fiery darts of the wicked." If the enemy can lead the desponding to take their eyes off from Jesus, and look to themselves, and dwell upon their own unworthiness, instead of dwelling upon the worthiness of Jesus, His love, His merits, and His great mercy, he will get away their shield of faith and gain his object; they will be exposed to his fiery temptations. The weak should therefore look to Jesus, and believe in Him; they then exercise faith.

I stand in Agreement with Kirk and his prayer over marriage. Let us TRULY understand the truth he just shared, that it's not about MY happiness but about YOU making ME holy, teaching me to have that servant's heart. Lord, only you can change hearts and minds and there is SO MUCH brokenness out there in SO MANY marriages, with alcohol abuse, domestic abuse, Satan has declared open war against marriage, trying to get gay marriage passed, further breaking down what God has determined Marriage to be. Lord, I pray for the broken spouses out there, living the battle, but staying IN THE BATTLE out of love and obedience, and belief that YOU can deliver spouses addicted to alocohol, etc. Lord, I pray in utter desperation that you give these mostly husbands visions or dreams, SHOWING them the pain, the tears shed in secret, the fear, the destruction they are bringing upon their marriages. And for those of us staying to fight for our marriage and the salvation of our spouse, Lord, give us YOUR strenngth and grace and the humility to be servant-minded. In Jesus Name, Amen

Living on OUR terms and OUR way is truthfully saying to the God that created you and holds your very life in HIS HANDS that you don't want Him to rule over your life, that you know better than HE what the plan for your life should be and it's rebellion and unbelief, neither of which God will answer or respond to in any kind of personal way. So He has given us free will because He never wanted a bunch of pre-programmed beings already wired to "love Him" but human beings who would CHOOSE to follow and believe and with that, trust NO GROWTH, spiritually, in your life, He may use hardship, and CONTINUE to use it until you GET what He wants you to do, which is turn to Christ, accept His offer if forgiveness, be willing to call your sin what God calls it...sin...PERIOD, and then be willing to repent (to turn and walk in another direction-towards God, and REALLY trust Jesus as your PERSONAL Lord and Savior If you REALLY love Jesus, the Bible says there is NO WAY you can do that AND continue to "practice"( no real desire to turn away from) sinful behavior that's been warned against in Scripture will actually keep people OUT of Heaven.

 Now, as Christians, until we get our resurrection bodies, we will continue to sin, but we hear the Holy Spirit's conviction, repent and get back up and keep aiming for the finish line, and by grace, we try to get sin OUT of our lives through a continuous learning process of reading and meditating on Scripture, getting to really Know Jesus in a very personal and powerful way, not just through His word, but through prayer, and worship; both private and corporate. The Bible says the fellowship with other believers will become more and More crucial as the "day" approaches, meaning as Christ's return grows closer, and by watching world events, unless you're blind, you can see that we are, as most who get it believe, very close and getting closer every day. So now is NOT the BEST time to pull AWAY from your relationship with the Lord; indeed, I would interject that it's crucial for us to stay as close to Him as possible right now AND going forward. And the giving thing? That proves to God that yes, you REALLY do believe His word, and the promises in in it, but it also shows that you care for the 'least of these," a mandate Christ gave us before He left. And He has PROMISED that if we seek first God and His Kingdom, then "all these things shall be added unto you. So, there are a lot of "Christians" out there these days living just like the unbelieving world does, so much so,  that a recent poll asked self-professing "Christians" why they didn't share their faith with friends, relatives, etc, and the most common answer was because THEY DON'T LIVE ANY DIFFERENTLY THAN THEIR UNSAVED FRIENDS AND FAMILY MEMBERS! Realize that if they DO KNOW you are supposed to be a "Christian" but you live just like the world, this gives unbelievers cause to blaspheme the precious name of Jesus Christ, and in eternity, YOU may hear from Christ, "I NEVER  KNEW you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness." These people figured they would get saved by being Christians on the outside, and doing "stuff" in Christ's name, but they NEVER had a true conversion or heart change. They never sought God or drew near to know Him, though God promises to ALWAYS respond to those who genuinely seek Him. For those who are only "Christian" in name only, They never really LOVE Christ nor do they know Him, never having spent any time to do so. The agape love Jesus calls us to can't  be conjured up by human efforts, but when we ask Jesus to get us to that point of truly loving Him with that fullness, He's ALWAYS happy to answer that prayer in the affirmative!

 Remember, ASK, SEEK and KNOCK, ALL with POSITIVE results. And there is NOTHING in this fallen world worth hanging on to so tightly that it could cost you your place in Heaven. Jesus replaces ANYTHING that He asks us to give up with Himself,  which brings your heart incredible joy and you just fall in love with Him and then you WANT to do those good works that have been planned beforehand for us to do after being born again into the family of God. Jesus makes it very clear that He is no mere "prophet." Indeed, He is God, the very Word of God come to earth in flesh to lay His life down and die a horrible death on a Roman cross to be the propitiation, or full payment for man's sin; ONCE and for all, God's plan of redemption finished and proven to be accepted by the Father by His resurrection that Sunday morning 2,000+ years ago. Jesus said in John 10:30 "I and the Father are one" an obvious claim of deity, plus all of the " I AM" statements. The "I AM" statements hearken back to when Moses was called by God to deliver God's people from Egypt. Moses wanted to know who He should say was sending him because they wouldn't accept him on his own. So Jehovah God shares His name with Moses and tells Moses to tell the Hebrews to say "I AM" has sent you. I AM, The Lord God Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth. The Word become flesh; walking among us, healing, teaching, feeding and loving people then doing the MOST LOVING ACTION EVER IN HISTORY: God in flesh died upon the cross on OUR behalf to save us the wrath of God due to us for our utter depravity and sinfulness. He who knew no sin became sin FOR US, IN OUR PLACE, to spare US God's WRATH. And His suffering was absolute and absolutely incredible!


The Video I've posted is a beautiful anthem to our ever-faithful God. I know that fear keeps many of us from giving because Satan convinces us there just won't be enough, especially when things are tight. But I think that that is when God wants to see our faith more than ever. And I want to be brave and see what happens.

together as only YOU could do!  You are the same God; yesterday, today, and forever!(HEB 13:8)
You are the Living Word; stretching out the Heavens and ever-expanding universe with just Your spoken Word, so much of it with just a breathe! Ah Lord-was it hard to decide what to decide to do first and did You have the most fun ever?
When You placed EACH STAR, and named each one, was it just one word spoken?
Do they REALLY die or is that just man’s notion?
And the “Star of Bethlehem,” now proved true…why of course it ALL points to You
My eyes are heavy Lord, but could I ask for one special thing?
Could You tell me about what to do about missing You So much
In a REAL, SPECIAL dream?
To help sustain me in these battle-weary days, a special grace?
I know it’s a child’s request, but that’s EXACTLY what I am, your baby lamb.

The Bible says it is unto man to die once and then judgment! You cannot choose AFTER you die, and if some man or man's tradition tells you there is, it is a lie, because God makes it CHRYSTAL CLEAR!

And we are ALL under the SAME judgment for "ALL we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned`-every one- to his own way; and the Lord has LAID ON HIM the iniquity of us all." And again,"None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands;no one seeks God. ALL have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one." (Romans 3:11,12) "For ALL have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God, and are justified by His grace as a gift,through the redemption that i as in Christ, whom God put forward as a propitiation by His blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in His divine forbearance He had passed over former sins. (Romans 3:23-25).
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who, for the joy set
before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Differences in theology caused by misunderstanding God's Nature?
IF we ALL truly GOT God's Full faithfulness, both to Himself, and BOTH to His people the JEWS and His CHURCH, the foolish debates would STOP! I seriously believe that. Take ONLY Hebrews 6:13-20 where it not only reiterates God's faithfulness to Abraham and the OATH God swore to Abraham (thus re-confirming the Abrahamic Covenant by inference and hermeneutics, God's eternal faithfulness to Himself and thus to ALL His promises is made in verse 17, " So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of THE PROMISE (Abrahamic Covenant), the UNCHANGEABLE character of His purpose, He guaranteed it with an oath, so that by two UNCHANGEABLE things, in which it is IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD TO LIE, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us (our salvation promises). We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor (that God, and therefore Jesus, cannot lie, being one and the same), of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain (as Jesus did, tearing it down forever by His sacrificial death as our High Priest),where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf having become a high priest after the order of Melchizedek.(Thus destroying forever our need for "priests", etc. to act on our behalf.

So to finish, saying that God's promise to the Jews is now null and void is badly mistaken, a mis-interpretation not only of God's high and holy character (though not intentional), and a HUGE mis-interpretation of God's Word. Again, if the literal sense makes plain sense, seek no other sense, so as not to end up with nonsense! Sounds easy to me! So why don't we all agree and quit confusing SO MANY young believers hmmm? :)

The Middle East is bleeding, yet Jesus Christ is moving there in incredible, miraculous ways. So the current teachings sweeping America that the church has TOTALLY replaced Israel, and the lie of "Replacement theology" are shown to be the false teachings that they are, unfortunately due to a hugely popular sweep of Reformed Theology across the United States and beyond. Only in one sense are they correct, God HAS Spiritually hardened the hearts of the Jewish people SPECIFICALLY so that we, the Gentile's could be brought in.We are though still named "wild olive branches" which have been "grafted in" to the Natural Olive Tree, which represents Israel. (Rom 11:17-21). Also, noted in Romans 11:17, it makes it very clear that SOME, not ALL the natural branches were removed, God ALWAYS preserves a faithful remnant!
Also, this hardening of Israel's heart has ALWAYS been partial and with a limit, "until the times of the gentiles has been fulfilled, which, if you're paying even the remotest attention to world events, the Middle East is "bleeding" throughout, And even R.C.Sproul said that when he looks at the Middle East in general, but Israel specifically, even he believes we could very well be on the cusp of witnessing the end of the times of the gentiles!

 I respect the stand they are taking for the Gospel, but they, are in truth, only telling part of the story and trying to "Spiritualize" the rest, to the detriment of their hearers. WE seem to have forgotten in America the individual responsibility to "rightly divide the truth" and take up the word for ourselves. The Holy Spirit still leads us to ALL truth, but our "spiritual" ears must be open to hear him. Because of the arrogance of a few, many are being mis-led into believing that things like prophecy, Israel, and anything to do with the end-times are ALL "open-handed" issues.

From years studying His word, I've NEVER gotten the impression that God the Father, and especially Jesus, consider ONE of those things as "open-handed". And when you go back to the rule regarding our study of Scripture, we would not be throwing Israel under the proverbial bus: When interpreting Scripture, if the literal sense makes plain sense, then seek no other sense to avoid making nonsense. Sounds pretty clear to me. And please don't misread me, I love ALL of my reformed brothers and sisters, but here, they are just plain wrong, which happens to all of us. And I'm also NOT saying that I'M right. I'm saying God is right, His word is right, because He never changes, not His character, not His mind, and definitely NOT His word. And HE NEVER SAYS OOPS. New Article on the Dead Sea Scrolls!

For those who love to study ancient history, the Dead Sea Scrolls & the Bible: Ancient Artifacts, Timeless Treasures exhibit at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary is a must-see. For the average person, it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to view 2,000-year-old Dead Sea Scroll fragments, some of which are on display for the first time.

Discovered in Israel in 1947, the Dead Sea Scrolls are considered by many scholars to be the greatest manuscript discovery of modern times. The Dead Sea Scrolls are 1,000 years older than the oldest complete Hebrew Bible known to man prior to 1947.

 “What we have obtained is a magnificent display of fragments and artifacts,” said Dr. Bruce McCoy, exhibition director for the display. “We have a scroll fragment of Genesis 37, 38 and 39 that are together, and nearly the size of a legal sheet of paper; other fragments are the size of 'Post-it' notes.

"The Dead Sea Scrolls are the oldest biblical texts that are known to man, and we are very proud and excited to be able to put them on display for the public. I believe that everyone needs to see for themselves just how incredible this collection is.”

The exhibit on display at the SWBTS’ MacGorman Performing Arts Center in Fort Worth, Texas, until Jan. 13, includes 21 scroll fragments of ancient biblical texts from Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, 1 Kings, Nehemiah, the Psalms, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Joel, Amos and Jonah. It is the first time 12 of the fragments have been viewed by the general public.

“Some of the scrolls date from the second temple period, back to about 250 B.C.,” McCoy said. “When people come to visit the exhibit, they are not going to get a sealskin or leather-bound issue of the Bible. It is simply a scroll, and we believe that visitors will be fascinated by how old these things really are and their authenticity. We’re humbled to be able to host an exhibit like this.”

Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth purchased some of the scroll fragments from the Shahin family in Israel. A Bedouin shepherd first found the scrolls and brought them to Khalil Escander Shahin, known as Kando.

Paige Patterson, president of SWBTS, and his wife, Dorothy, became friends with Kando when they met in Kando’s shop in Bethlehem 40 years ago. Kando since has passed away, but his son, William, reached out to the Pattersons when the family decided to sell some of the scrolls.

Friends of the Pattersons, Gary and Stephanie Loveless, accompanied the couple on one of their trips to Israel and eventually provided the funds to purchase the first few scrolls from Kando's family. 

Other parts of the exhibit include a replica of Jerusalem’s Western Wall, or Wailing Wall, on which visitors can place prayers or praises to God; a portion of a Gutenberg Bible from 1450s Germany; a 1611 King James Bible; an authentic Bedouin tent made of goat hair and interactive kiosks. Other artifacts are loan from entities around the world.

Visitors can also experience what is like to be an archaeologist. On the outside of the MacGorman Center lies the Qumran Simulated Dig Site, in which individuals can participate in an excavation under the supervision of Ph.D. and Master’s level students from SWBTS. The site has been layered with hundreds of 2,000-year-old potsherds, contributed by the Smithsonian Institute.

I have known the sadness of shame; so much so

That I don’t even recognize my name

Was all the anger and hate in my childhood to blame?

All the constant anger and fights; never knowing what love

Really was or even looked like?

Years later…I was now caught in a trap…by men who would use me

And then throw me out as so much trash…

But today a nightmare; they threw me, barely covered by a sheet

At this man’s feet; the One they call Jesus…

Some have said He has come to free us…

I am bloody from the beating and dead inside,

 But how can I hide…from Him?

My body trembles from fear and shame and chills race over me;

What will His answer be? Life or death for me?

He has written something in the sand, something that

All the men with rocks in their hands seem to understand…

For now they ate walking away one by one,

Dropping the stones from their blood-guilt hands…

And Jesus turns so slowly it seems back to see…

Oh…what now will become of me?

                    I remember back; the anger and lack of love as a child,                     

That’s all I ever wanted, but everything became mixed up

In my heart and my head until love became sex;

A heavy yoke around my neck…

Now I’m before Jesus, the One they call Messiah,

But I cannot move for trembling so…

“Woman,” so gentle, “has no one condemned you?”…silence profound

Such a gentle voice, I just know I heard love there?

He reaches down to take my hand and He helps me stand

But I almost fall from the weakness and fear that overwhelm

My heart and soul…But He seems to know and I begin to sob

As He just holds me close by His side, tender as a bride

As years of tears that I’d always tried to hide,

Pouring and pouring from unseen wounds inside;

And finally I lift my tear-stained eyes to meet His,

And a miracle transpires; His eyes are full of tears…for me?

And I see true love there! I’ve never seen love in any mans eyes;

Until I looked into the face of Jesus Christ!

He saved my life with His grace….

He said, “Neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more…”

But not like go away from me; like “I’ve set you free!”

He looks at me again and smiles; His hand placed gently on my face…

I’m lost between time and space…

True love has set me free from my life of shame and sin;

He gave me a second chance; to try again, to follow Him!

He is my heart, my love, my all

He helps me not to fall and has set me free from the

Desires of the flesh, there’s none left!

A changed heart now seeking His will and His best;

I am SO blessed to call Him my Lord and my King!

For Him, I would do anything!

For I was bought at a price;

Now and forever I owe Him not just my allegiance, but my life.

First of all, let me say, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL! And secondly, forgive my absence, for anybody who may have noticed! I'm in process of switching my blog over to another domain, which will hopefully reach a bigger audience and be more user friendly!


My text today is Colossians 1"15-19
"He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.(NOTE: firstborn refers here to place of preeminence and NOT to Christ being a created being which He is NOT). For BY HIM ALL THINGS were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities- ALL things were crested THROUGH Him and FOR Him. And He is BEFORE ALL THINGS (He existed before the foundations of the heavens and the earth, eternity past), and in Him ALL THINGS hold together. And He is the head of the body, the church (Christ is the head, NO MAN!). He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in EVERYTHING He might be PREEMINENT. For in Him All the fullness of God was pleased to dwell."


So this whole passage speaks of the Lordship and preeminence of Christ over ALL things, whether on earth, or in the heavens. That would include us, ESPECIALLY us, because we were created in God's image and His very breath was breathed into us to give us life. Psalm 139:13 speaks of how God "knits" each of us together in our mother's wombs. Our lives are no accident folks, and God has a plan for us, when we will accept His FREE offer of salvation through repentance (a turning away from a selfish, sinful life), and believing in His Son, Jesus Christ to be not only your Savior but your Lord as well. Ah, there is that word Lord. MOST of us want the saving from our sins part, but we'll take life on our terms from there on our own, Thank you. Well, it just doesn't work that way. Christ MUST be Lord of All of your life or not at all. You can't be half saved! We tend to want the Lord around as a last resort when things are going bad, and we cry for help, then after He helps us we go off and forget all about Him. Also, people don't mind Christ as long as He doesn't interfere with their plans OR the way that THEY want to live, which, sadly for most "professing Christians" is just like the rest of the world! We have let so much of the world into the evangelical church that it's hard to tell the difference between the church and the world. We have so many nominal Christians and downright "false" Christians in the church in our day that it's mind-boggling! Of course, it's NOT that we were not warned, the Apostles, and Jesus Himself warned of the barrage of false teachers and false prophets that would invade the church the closer we get to His return. And yes, they have ALWAYS existed, but I, along with many others believe it has NEVER been at the level it is at right now.
ALL the more reason to do a faith check and see who or what it is that you are really serving with your time, energy, finances, everything! Jesus should be Lord over EVERYTHING in our lives. It all comes from Him in the first place! IF He is LORD, then He MUST be LORD OVER ALL! Remember His words, "Why do you call me Lord and then not do as I ask?" Legit question. If there is any "Not so Lord" in our hearts, then we have not surrendered all to Christ! And we must dear ones! Remember, when He comes at the end of the 7year Tribulation (which He talks about in Matthew 24), some will say to Him "Lord, Lord, didn't we prophesy in Your name, and drive out demons in Your name? And He will say to them,'Depart from me, you who PRACTICE lawlessness, I never knew you." Matt 7:22-23 (my para-phrase). These are "professing" Christians guys! They believe they're on their way to glory but they never had a real LOVE and LORDSHIP relationship with Christ! Look at the text at who He is! EVERYTHING was made by and for Him! He has preeminence over ALL! He is worthy to be served! He holds life itself together, He IS LIFE ITSELF! And He GAVE his life WILLINGLY to pay for our sins, NOT HIS! He paid OUR DEATH PENALTY! We owe Him OUR allegiance today and FOREVER! Christ IS LORD OVER ALL! We were BOUGHT with a terrible price! Without Christ, NOTHING would have been created! So lay down that pride today and bow your knee before your Lord and King who loved you enough to die for you! Turn from your sin and embrace the freedom ONLY Jesus offers!
